The New Light … a note from Amber

Over the past 8 years, NLF has raised millions of dollars to fund immune-based therapy research and paid for families to get their children to treatment through the Noah’s G.i.f.t.s. Program. Among the many things we are very proud of, Noah’s Light Foundation always achieved the goals it set. Our biggest of those was getting the NOAH Protocol open. If you are not familiar with the NOAH Protocol, or have not seen my TEDtalk, it is the first (in the world) immune-based therapy for pediatric brain cancer. It was named after my son Noah and was defined as New Opportunity Advancing Hope for families that were told there was none. The NOAH Protocol was so groundbreaking that it garnered international acclaim.

As an addendum to our work towards a cure, I have given keynote speeches in Washington and the White House and at numerous Pediatric cancer Foundation events. Along the way, we learned that the need for large-scale advocacy and education is more than ever.  Often more vital, are the day-to-day conversations that give hope to families…for I am one of these families. It is for these reasons that Noah’s Light Foundation is transitioning.

Noah’s Light Foundation will no longer be a 501.c.3 and we are so excited to announce that we are “Joining Forces” with another wonderful foundation with the same mission. I am proud to announce that Dragon Master Foundation will continue our Noah’s G.i.f.t.s. Program as well as give our “Team Noah” a home to join “Team Fired Up.” Our NLF staff will be employed by Dragon Master Foundation as of January. This is where our runners can continue to run in all of their virtual races, cancer eRACEr and runDisney events with the friendly faces of the Team Captains they know and love!  You will be hearing from Shereen soon and STAR WARS™ HALF MARATHON – THE DARK SIDE is coming soon – sign up! As Noah would say, “The Force is Stronger now.”

With these exciting changes, I will be focusing on the job I have been given for the rest of my life – Advocacy. When Noah was here, I was his advocate and now I will be an advocate for all children and families. I will be blogging again at Noahslight.com and I would love to hear from you. I will be sharing events of Dragon Master, other foundations and advocates that are fighting for our children. I will be sharing my journey through not only Pediatric cancer, but healing, living and happiness. (Yes…I didn’t think it was possible either, but it is. 🙂
